Please remember – There will be no JPFOB 1st Friday bluegrass in February, in order for our officers and members to attend the annual SPBGMA convention in Nashville, Tennessee!

Our second Bluegrass gathering of 2012, will be on Friday,March 2nd, 2012!

At the Kentucky Opry!

     Our next first Friday Bluegrass gathering will be on Friday, January 6, 2012 at the Kentucky Opry.  The officers and directors of the JPFOB wish to say “Happy New Year” to every member of our association, as well as Thank you for your continuing support for the past 22 years. We appreciate you folks sticking with us for all these years, through all our moves, and the many ups and downs we’ve had during the history of the JPFOB. The featured bands for our January Bluegrass night will be “The Cope Brothers”, “”The Plowboys”, “Old Santa Fe and possibly a surprise act as well!

A very special thank you goes out to all the great bands that have been the backbone and strength of our association. Most recently we wish to thank, the featured bands that appeared at our December first Friday Bluegrass Night, who are: “Poor Farm Road”; “The Kentucky Possum Wranglers”; “Drive Tyme”; and “The McKendrees”. In January our open jam session in the Lobby will begin at 6:30 PM for those who wish to jam, and our featured bands will begin at 7:30 PM. I’m hoping to see every member of our association in attendance, as we begin our twenty-third year of Presenting Bluegrass music without charge, as our charter dictates. Please continue your support as we continue to try to “Preserve and Promote, America’s only truly original musical art form.

          We are pleased to announce that Mr. and Mrs. Campbell have managed to again book “The Gibson Brothers” back into the Kentucky Opry show on February 24th, 2012. This will be another great show by the reigning IBMA Vocal Group of the Year, and we urge each member of the JPFOB to support this show. Tickets are available at the Opry ticket desk in the lobby, and are priced as follows: Adults $15.00 advance, $18.00 at the door; Children 12 and under $7.50. Please support this show, and this multi award winning band – You’ll also get to see our own Clayton Campbell in his job as fiddle player for the Gibson Brothers!
