The
Jackson Purchase Friends of Bluegrass Newsletter for May, 2010!
As
always, May is Bluegrass Month, and once again we will try to do it up right!
Beginning with our next 1st Friday Bluegrass gathering on Friday, May 7th, 2010. Scheduled to appear, as of the date of this
mailing, are: “Poor Farm Road”;” The Lakeside Review”; “Old Santa Fe”; and “The
Ridge Runners”(the newest of the great bands signed to Tom T. & Dixie
Hall’s Blue Circle Records label!)
Then
on Friday May 21st, thanks to our continued partnership with the
City of Benton, Kentucky, Evan Spencer will again Emcee the Eighteenth annual
“Bluegrass On The Square” featuring two of the best Bands to have ever
originated in western Kentucky, “The Josh Williams Band” and “The Ridge
Runners”. Admission to Bluegrass on the Square will be one non perishable food item
per person, or a cash donation of any amount.
All donations will go directly to the Marshall County “Caring Needline”.
A
very special thank you to Darrell Gibson and the staff at WAAJ, 89.7 Radio,
“All Bluegrass all the time”, for their help in working the crowd to pick up
the donations of cash and non perishable food items during the concert.
If you missed the WAAJ
fundraiser concert at the Kentucky Opry on April 9th, you missed a simply awesome
show! “The McKendrees” along with “Donna Ulisse and the Poor Mountain
Boys”, gave our attendees one of the best live shows I’ve seen in a long time!
